Dhulikhel is a beautiful village that lies in the Kavrepalanchowk District, Nepal. It is a vantage point from where we can observe the picturesque views of villages and outstanding mountains. Beside near proximity from Kathmandu, Dhulikhel is untouched from pollution, and hustle and bustle making it perfect getaway place for local and international tourists who wants to escape from the bustling city of Kathmandu. People of the Dhulikhel are mostly Newars, Brahmin, Chhetri, Tamang and Dalit. Dhulikhel-Balthali- Khopasi hiking is a short hike yet provides us with an outstanding view of mountains, villages, and Namo Buddha monastery.

Namo Buddha monastery is the major attraction of this hike. This hike gives you chance to get views of unique culture and lifestyle of people living there. From Balthali we will hike towards the Khopasi crossing the Sanagaun, Nyaupane Gaun and hike down. We will start our hike from Dhulikhel and move to Balthali. Next day from Balthali we go to the Khopasi. This Short and sweet trip provides us a remarkable village hike of Balthali and mountains seen from Dhulikhel.

  • 1. Will somebody come to pick me up at the airport upon arrival ?
    Yes, our representative will be there to greet you at the airport. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel by a private car/jeep.
  • 2. What is the overnight accommodation like ?
    We use standard/superior standard/deluxe rooms for the nights that you spend in hotel during your trip.
  • 3. How big are the groups ?
    We believe in operating small intimate group to provide personal attention and services to our guests. Small groups can enjoy the trek hassle free and enjoy the customized trip according to their need and suitability. We do not incorporate more than 14 People in a group, unless we get special requests from our clients.
  • 4. Can I do solo trek ?
    Nepal is a safe country for anyone who wants to explore on their own although professional guidance is highly recommended by our team for the safety .
  • 5. What is the main purpose of this hike ?
    This beautiful and amazing hike leads you towards the Buddhist monastery of Dhulikhel. It also takes you towards the natural beauty of Nepal on short period of time which can be done with your family and friends also.
  • 6. What about security during hike ?
    We make sure to take security measures during hike to make your trip delightful. We hire experienced and license holding guides to safeguard your life. We suggest you to follow the guide’s instruction carefully and take responsibility for personal belongings. Always keep your valued belongings near you and lock the door from inside during the night.
  • 7. What sort of food can I expect in hiking ?
    Since the hike is near to Kathmandu Valley, you can get wide range of delicious eastern as well as western foods like Pasta, Pizza, Noodles, Bread, Soup, Rice and Vegetables, delicious MoMo, etc.
  • 8. Is the drinking water safe in hiking region ?
    There are plenty of water stations and mini markets and shops where you can easily get bottled water. We recommend that you bring water purifier tablets with you in case you need it for yourself. You have to buy it for yourself.
  • 9. What mode of transportation do you use ?
    We use private transportation for sightseeing. While visiting to Dhulikhel and Baithali we use private transportation according to the comfort and ease that you require. We do pick up and drop from starting point till the end.
  • 10. What is the best season for hiking ?
    Hiking is done every season but February to June and October to December are the best time to perform this hike.
  • 11. Will I be taken care of during emergency ?
    Yes, of course. Your security is our first priority. In any kind of emergency, ask your guide to contact us immediately so that we can manage vehicle for you ASAP and you will be directly transfer to hospital for the treatment.
  • 12. What is appropriate dress for hiking ?
    Hiking is a tiresome activity that requires a lot of physical movement so pack your active wears and hiking pants for easy hike. Needless to say that, good shoe is very important for any hike. As Kathmandu is not very much cold place, you will not have to carry heavy clothes. Carry a light weight jacket along with the pant to hike. But make sure you bring at least one warm jacket in case of sudden weather change.
  • 13. Is it possible to alternate or change the day trips ?
    We customize the trip according to your preference but if you need to change plan during the trek consult the guide.
  • 14. Are we sure to get room while hiking ?
    We contact the hotels owner for reservation of the room before hiking on a particular day.
  • 15. Are your guides reliable and certified ?
    All our guides are reliable and holding license from Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Government. They are the most valuable assets of the company. Guides know the route like the back of their hand and use their expertise in ensuring your safety.
  • 16. How can I charge my electronics during the trip ?
    You can charge your electronics in the hotel where you stay and spend your nights by paying minimum amount.
  • 17. Is there any communication while we are on trekking ?
    Yes, you will get a local telephone which is available in hotels you will be staying at. In case of emergency, you can also call from the guide his/her help.
  • 18. Can I add extra days to my Hiking trip ?
    If you need extra day to complete the hike, you will need to inform the guide in advance and the guide will let the company know. Adding a day to hike can result in many changes in other arrangements such as transportation, guide’s schedule, flight details, hotel bookings and all. So, we really do not recommend this to our clients unless there is an emergency case. But it is true that those changes could be made but it will cost extra. The best way to do it is to inform the agent company about it.
  • 19. What immunizations will I need ?
    Before coming to Nepal make sure you are covered for diphtheria & TB, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, malaria, typhoid, polio and tetanus. Make sure you are in best shape to complete the trekking without any complication.
  • 20. How many hours do I have to hike each day ?
    Usually, we have to walk about 4-6 hours a day. But it should not be taken as certain thing because the hour of walk depends on client’s speed. So it is really relative.
  • 21. How will my booking be processed ?
    To confirm your booking, a deposit of 15% of total trip amount is required if you are booking at least a year in advance before trip departure date. If booking is made between 100-364 days before the trip departure, you'll need to pay 20% to confirm the trip. If payment is made between 99-60 days, 25% of the total trip amount will need to be paid and if booked between 59-30 days, 50% of the total trip amount needs to be paid and finally, if you are booking 29 days prior to trip departure, then 100% payment should be made. The payments can be easily made by the bank transfer. The due balance is payable on arrival in Kathmandu with cash (preferably USD/EURO) or card on POS/credit card machine. Please note that non refundable fee is 10% or $200 whichever is greater.
  • 22. Can we use the credit card during the hike ?
    Yes, you can use the credit card during the hiking. But make sure you withdraw few amount in case of emergency.
  • 23. Do we need to carry our bags by our self or you will provide porters ?
    No, you don't need. You have to carry your personal bags with water bottle yourself and medicines will be carried by your guide in case of need.
