<p>At Swotah Travel and Adventure, our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has always been at the heart of what we do&mdash;even before the official establishment of our company. We strongly believe that our business should not only focus on profitability but also contribute meaningfully to society.</p>
<p>One of the ways we live out this philosophy is through our efforts to promote social equality by supporting education. We provide scholarships to children of porters and villagers living in some of Nepal's most remote areas. To make this possible, we dedicate <strong>5% to 10% of our revenue</strong> toward this initiative.</p>

<p>By doing so, we aim to ensure that children who might otherwise have no access to education are given the opportunity to learn, grow, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. <p>Total amount spent on 2018 scholarship is $600. The amount was divided among 7 students. All other school materials such as school bags, globes, drawing books and pencils, set of notebooks, pens and pencils were all contributed by kind hearted Carole, who is to be seen in the pictures. We are all grateful for her contribution. Her personal donations are worth $300 which is to be spent on 2 more kids in some other school.</p>

<p>In 2023, Swotah Travel, supported by Responsible Travel, organized the "Trip for a Trip" program, providing an enriching experience for community school children of Shuklagandaki. This initiative combined education with adventure, offering the children a memorable trip to Pokhara, one of Nepal's most picturesque cities.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The journey began with a scenic bus ride from Shuklagandaki to Pokhara, filled with stunning views of the Himalayan foothills. The first stop was Phewa Lake, where the children enjoyed a peaceful boat ride and learned about the lake's ecosystem and local fishing communities. The next destination was the Peace Stupa, offering panoramic views of Pokhara Valley and teaching the children about Buddhist traditions and the importance of peace.</p>

<p>Exploring Pokhara's famous caves, the children visited Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave, discovering fascinating geological formations and learning about the role of bats in the ecosystem. A traditional Nepali lunch followed, giving the children a taste of the local cuisine.</p>

<p>Afternoon educational activities included interactive sessions, group discussions, and quizzes, reinforcing the knowledge gained during the trip. The day concluded with an evening program of music, dance, and storytelling, celebrating the successful completion of the journey.</p>

<p>The "Trip for a Trip 2023" program by Swotah Travel not only provided an unforgettable educational adventure for the children but also highlighted the importance of responsible travel and cultural appreciation. Swotah Travel continues to organize impactful programs, fostering a love for learning and exploration among young minds.</p>

Trip for a Trip 2023

<p>We are thrilled to share our recent endeavor, the "Humanitarian Aid and Scholarship" program, with a special purpose organized by Swotah Travel. This 2024 project received tremendous support from our clients Dipalie, Jayshree, Punita, and Shilpa. Their initial goal was to visit Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet. However, their journey took an unexpected yet heartwarming turn as they generously contributed $2,100 to support various charitable causes. The trust-based donation was entrusted to Ajay Kumar Shrestha, the owner of Swotah Travel, and was officially initiated by the Swotah UNESCO Club, a local club, to facilitate the research and identification of flood victims and deserving students over a period of more than a week.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The activities and contributions of this project were both comprehensive and impactful. The team first met with Raju Wagle, Ward-4 Chair, who assisted in identifying flood-affected families and provided a venue for their meet-up. Following this, an inspection of houses destroyed by the flood in the Seti River area, Shuklagandaki-4, Pulchowk, Tanahun, was conducted to assess the damage and understand the needs of the victims.</p>

<p>A press meet was organized to announce annual scholarships for one girl and one boy from Sahid Krishna Secondary School. During this event, the team met with Parshuram, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sahid Krishna Secondary School, to discuss the scholarship program. Additionally, the team engaged with community groups, attending a meeting with a mother&rsquo;s community to discuss initiatives for promoting gender equality and visiting Bal Vidya Secondary School to meet scholarship recipients Aron and Aarohi and their principal, Ek Bahadur Gurung. Other donations to students were managed by Ajay&rsquo;s colleague, Raj Kumar Shrestha.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The project received continuous support from Ajay&rsquo;s brother, Unique Lamsal, a local resident of Shuklagandaki. The allocation of donations was meticulously planned to ensure maximum impact. Immediate relief amounting to NPR 66,000 was provided to 33 flood victims (six families), distributed in cash at the ward office. Scholarships were awarded to deserving students from three different schools. Bal Vidya Mandir Boarding School's recipients, Aarohi Shrestha and Aron Shrestha, received coverage for two years' full school fees, totaling NPR 115,000. Shree Sahid Krishna Secondary School's recipients, Shobha Pradhan and another student yet to be evaluated, received a total of NPR 15,000. Ranjan Pradhan from Shree Panchamunidev Secondary School will receive NPR 100,000 to be paid in cash on the annual day.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Further contributions included NPR 10,000 to Unnatshil Mother's Community to support gender equality programs and NPR 13,000 for miscellaneous expenses, including travel, hall space, and refreshments. The total expected expenses amount to NPR 319,000 by 2025. We are committed to ensuring the continuation of these scholarships for four students in two different schools beyond this period.</p>

<p>Swotah Travel has been organizing such projects since 2016, contributing to society with annual scholarships, trail development programs, guide and porter support programs, and natural disaster relief programs. We extends his sincere gratitude to the kind-hearted donors whose generosity has brought relief and hope to many in need.
