The Danfe Trail Expedition is a remarkable journey through some of Nepal's most remote and spectacular landscapes. Combining pristine alpine meadows, sacred pilgrimage sites, crystal-clear lakes, dense forests, and one of the country's most beautiful protected areas, this expedition offers an authentic Himalayan adventure away from the crowded trekking routes.
Beginning in Kathmandu, the journey heads west to the beautiful alpine landscapes of Ramaroshan in Accham District before trekking across high mountain ridges to the sacred Badimalika Temple. The expedition then continues to Nepal's largest lake inside Rara National Park before returning through the breathtaking Karnali Corridor.
Along the way, travelers experience diverse cultures, rich biodiversity, panoramic Himalayan scenery, and the warm hospitality of western Nepal.
Western Nepal remains one of the country's least explored trekking destinations. The Danfe Trail connects the beautiful alpine basin of Ramaroshan with the sacred Badimalika region before continuing to the spectacular landscapes of Rara National Park.
Ramaroshan is famous for its numerous alpine lakes, rolling grasslands, rhododendron forests, and panoramic mountain scenery. The region supports a rich variety of wildlife and birdlife, making it an excellent destination for nature enthusiasts.
The trek gradually ascends through forests and high ridges toward the revered Badimalika Temple, one of Nepal's most important pilgrimage destinations. Situated high in the mountains, the temple offers magnificent views of the Api, Saipal, and other western Himalayan ranges.
The journey then continues to Rara National Park, Nepal's smallest national park but home to the country's largest natural lake. The park protects diverse forests of pine, spruce, juniper, and fir while providing habitat for Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Leopard, and more than 200 bird species.
Returning via the legendary Karnali Corridor completes one of Nepal's finest overland Himalayan expeditions.
