Trip Overview

About the Naturally Nepal

Naturally Nepal is an 8-day tour that links the country's lowland adventures and hill towns: rafting on the Trishuli River, the Newar town of Bandipur, boating on Begnas Lake, the lakeside and paragliding of Pokhara, a Chitwan jungle safari, and the heritage of Kathmandu. It is built for travellers who want a relaxed, varied first look at Nepal without a long trek.

The tour opens in Kathmandu, runs a half-day raft on the Trishuli on the way west, then climbs to Bandipur, a preserved Newar trading town with a car-free bazaar and sunset views over the Himalaya. It continues to Begnas Lake in Pokhara's City of Seven Lakes, the adventure hub of Pokhara itself, and a safari in Chitwan National Park, before returning to the Kathmandu Valley's UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The tour is easy and low-altitude, staying in the hills and lowlands, so it suits all ages and needs no trekking experience. Most days mix sightseeing with a light activity such as rafting, a lake boat or an optional paraglide. The sections below cover the entry permits and park fees, the best season, transport and what to pack.

Everything you need to know

In-depth guides on accommodation, food, permits, insurance and special considerations — tap any topic to expand.

Naturally Nepal is an easy, low-altitude tour, so altitude and fitness are not real concerns; the tour stays in the hills and lowlands and you sleep in comfortable hotels and lodges. Most days combine sightseeing with one light activity, at a relaxed pace.

The activities are gentle: a half-day raft on the Trishuli's grade 2 to 3 rapids, a boat on Begnas Lake, short strolls around Bandipur's car-free bazaar, an optional paraglide in Pokhara, and a jeep and canoe safari in Chitwan. None of it needs trekking experience, and the tour suits families, older travellers and first-time visitors. Swotah guides handle the logistics so you can keep it relaxed.
