Comprehensive Trek Guide

multi line

Thorong La Pass Trekking is a 13-day trekking adventure that will take you through some of the most incredible landscapes of the Annapurna region. From lush forests to high-altitude deserts, you will explore a variety of terrains and trek to the highest point, Thorong La Pass, at 5,416 m. This is one of the highest trekking passes in the world and is renowned for being one of the most spectacular trekking routes. As you traverse this route, you will also have the opportunity to discover traditional villages and experience an array of cultural experiences. This trek is perfect for those seeking a challenging journey in the stunning Annapurna region of Nepal.

The trek starts from the city of Pokhara, where you can explore the beautiful lakes and caves before heading off into the mountains. You will then pass through the villages of Manang and Pisang before reaching the Thorong La Pass. From here, you will have stunning views of the Annapurna range and the surrounding countryside. As you descend, you will pass through the lush and verdant forest of the lower Annapurna region before reaching the end of the trail in the city of Jomsom.

Also known as Annapurna Circuit or Round Annapurna Trek it is one of the most popular treks in Nepal, and for a good reason. Starting at 1,330m and going up to 5,146m, this trek offers a vast array of climates and geography. From the deepest gorge to the largest pass, you’ll see a huge variety of scenery that ranges from tropical jungles to winter wonderlands. Trekkers experience it all through the Annapurna Circuit trek.

Throw in some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mt. Annapurna I 8091m, Mt. Annapurna II 7,937m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7,525m, Mt Dhaulagiri 8,167m, Mt. Manaslu 8,163m, Tukuche peak, Tilicho peak 7,134m. You’ll find yourself with some of the best views on Earth.

Not only is this Annapurna circuit trek beautiful, but it’s also an incredible cultural experience that takes you through several distinct regions of Nepal. You’ll experience the culture of the Gurung, Manangi, and Mustangely people, who all have their own traditions, language, and cuisine. You’ll learn about Buddhist culture while passing mani walls, exploring temples, and visiting monasteries.

If all of that wasn’t enough to lure you to the Annapurna Circuit trek, you’ll also have to face the mentally and physically challenging climb over Thorong La Pass, an experience people have described as not only rewarding but life-changing.

If you want to acclimatize to the high altitude, you can opt for a longer trekking route, which includes trekking to Poonhill and takes up to 17-19 days to complete. This extra time will also give you the chance to explore the mountain's hidden treasures and take part in some of the local cultural activities.

Tipping Recommendation

We recommend allocating 10-15% of your total tour cost to tipping guides, drivers, and other hardworking staff who ensure your experience is unforgettable. While tipping is not mandatory, it is a meaningful way to support the seasonal workers who dedicate themselves to making your trip extraordinary.

By booking with us and participating in the tipping culture, you are directly contributing to Nepal’s local economy and helping sustain the tourism workforce. This support is crucial in retaining talent within the country and addressing challenges like brain drain.

Your generosity makes a lasting impact—thank you!
