A Swotah representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfers you to the domestic terminal for check-in. You board a mountain-view aircraft operated by Yeti Airlines, Buddha Air or Shree Airlines and take off by approximately 07:00 local time. The aircraft climbs to a cruise altitude of 6,500 to 7,620 m over the Himalayan foothills and tracks eastward along the arc of the high peaks. The cabin attendant identifies each summit: Gaurishankar (7,134 m), Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Everest (8,849 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Makalu (8,485 m), Manaslu (8,163 m) and Annapurna I (8,091 m). The right-side window faces the mountains on the outbound leg, giving approximately 40 minutes of direct viewing time. After the return approach the aircraft lands back at KTM and Swotah transfers you to your hotel or onward connection.
Carry your camera with a polarising filter and a spare battery. Motion-sickness tablets taken 30 minutes before boarding are recommended for sensitive travellers. Wear light layers; the cabin is temperature-controlled but the early-morning apron walk in October and November is cool.
