Warisan Merdeka Tower stands at 678.9 meters tall, making it the second tallest building in the world and is made of steel, glass and concrete. On the other hand, Mount Everest stands at an impressive 8,848 meters tall and is mostly made of solid rock and ice.  The structural engineers are Leslie E. Robertson Associates and Robert Bird Group, while Arup is the civil and structural engineer of record for this tower.

Both landmarks are seen as a symbol of pride for their respective countries and regions. Warisan Merdeka Tower’s foundation was laid in 2016, and the construction started in 2017. However, it was erected in 2021, and there are multiple phases to complete it until 2025. At present, the construction is in Phase 1. It is situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline, and its distinctive golden roof is illuminated at night, giving the tower a unique look. In contrast, Mount Everest is found on the border of Nepal and Tibet in the Himalayan Mountain Range. It was first summited by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953, and since then has been one of the most sought-after mountaineering challenges in the world.

Despite their differences in size, they both have similar dangers associated with them. This work of art was designed by the famous architectural design firm Gensler and is owned by Shanghai Municipal government. It is located in the heart of Shanghai's financial district and has been hailed as an architectural marvel.

Additionally, it has 128 storeys and 97 elevators in total. Jun Xia led the Shanghai tower's design team, and work on it began in 2008 and was finished in six years. To the general public, it was only formally opened in February 2015.

Now compare that to Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Its peak stands at 8,848 meters (29,029 feet), more than fourteen times taller than the Shanghai Tower. Located in the Mahalangur Himal subrange of the Himalayas, it straddles the border between China and Nepal and has been a destination for adventurers and mountaineers since its first successful ascent in 1953.

The highest point on Earth and the tallest mountain in the globe measures a breathtaking 8,848 meters (29,029 ft) in height. The fourth-tallest building in the world is Abraj Al Bait, which stands at 601 meters (1,972 ft) tall. Because of this, Abraj Al Bait, which only accounts for 7% of Mount Everest's height, is much smaller.

The Abraj Al Bait is an Islamic hotel complex which is situated in Mecca of, Saudi Arabia. It is also known as the clock tower and consists of a total of seven towers arranged in a circular pattern with a large clock at the top. Among all, the tallest tower is the Makkah Royal Clock Tower standing at the height of 601 meters. The tower has luxury suites, restaurants and a prayer room accommodating around 10,000 people. There are a total of 120 floors and 96 elevators in the tower. Abraj Al Bait was designed and developed by the Saudi Binladin group.

In comparison to Mount Everest, Abraj Al Bait is minuscule in size. Mount Everest is about 14 times taller than Abraj Al Bait and is also much more difficult to climb. Furthermore, Mount Everest is an active geological feature, whereas Abraj Al Bait is a man-made structure that was designed and constructed by humans.

In addition, the climates of Abraj Al Bait and Mount Everest are very dissimilar. Extreme temperatures, strong winds and a lot of snow are characteristics of Mount Everest, which is situated in the Himalayas. On the other hand, Abraj Al Bait is situated in Saudi Arabia's hot desert region, where daytime highs can surpass 40°C (104°F).

Ping An Finance Center

Standing at 1,965 feet tall, the Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen, China, is the fifth tallest building in the world. It is completed in 2017 and serves as a multi-purpose tower with offices, retail, and a hotel. While it is an impressive sight to behold, it pales in comparison to the ultimate height champion, Mount Everest. The number of stories in this building is 115, and the total lift count is 80.

Mount Everest stands at 29,029 feet above sea level. That's almost 14 times taller than the Ping An Finance Center. To put this into perspective, if you stacked 14 Ping An Finance Centers on top of each other, you would still not be able to match Mount Everest's height. This is why Mount Everest is considered one of the ultimate feats of nature.

All in all, we can conclude that even the highest building in the world(Burj Khalifa) is minuscule compared to Mount Everest's height. The best humans have achieved in terms of building a high structure is just around 10% of the height of Mount Everest.
